If you’re at a place where all your prayers have been answered. Where it seems before you call, God has answered, then most likely this post is not for you. Why? Because you’re at a point where you really do not need any motivation to bless the Lord. 😉
But there is another category. We are the ones that find ourselves in less than good situations 😩. Where we’re struggling to meet a need. Struggling to pay a debt. Struggling to have a child. Struggling to move on from painful pasts. Struggling to get a job. Struggling to get an apartment. Struggling to start all over again. Struggling to get over a divorce. Struggling to get well 😔.
Make no mistake, these people are God chasers and they believe in the power of prayer. Just that it seems we’re in one of those “silent seasons” where it seems our prayers are not getting past the ceiling and we just don’t know why 😩.
I believe, it is at times like this that we need special motivation to pray because from a natural standpoint , we have no desire to bless God. If we’ll be honest, most of us at this point are seriously “fighting the fight of faith” trying to have a good attitude and not get mad at God 😔. But to now ask us to bless Him in the middle of our painful trial is just asking for too much. HONESTLY. Because if we’d be sincere, the only thing we “feel” like doing is GIVING UP! 😭. Who knows what I am talking about? 💁
If you’re at this point, then please believe God is reaching out to you. Because He wants to help you. Because He affectionately cares about you 💕 .
Why should we bless the Lord? I believe the right way to approach God at a time like this is to stop focusing on the material blessings that we currently lack and rather focus on His benefits as listed in Psalm 103.
Why should we bless the Lord? We should bless Him because He forgives our iniquities. Because He heals our diseases. Because He redeems our lives from destruction. Because He crowns us with loving kindness and tender mercies. Because He satisfies our mouth with good things 🙌.
And here’s the ultimate: we should bless the Lord simply because He is worthy to be praised.
So, put your feelings aside and bless the name of the Lord. Okay? 😘
